Astrazeneca Oxford will be administered at Millennium Point
More from our reporter Graham Young who explains about the logistics, operations and which vaccine will be distributed to patients at Millennium Point
“All of the vaccines being given here are from AstraZeneca Oxford – the American vaccine is for hospital hubs only because of the conditions required to store it at very low temperatures.
“Each injection will be given into a non-dominant arm and patients / customers will be warned about potential side effects including headache or flu like symptoms.
“Everybody will be advised to wait at least 15 minutes before trying to drive home.

“Within a week it is hoped the capacity will have risen to 1200 per day and then 1800 per day once all I.T. issues have been smoothed out.
“The capacity at Millennium Point will eventually be 28 lanes operating from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at an estimated rate of 15 people per hour.
“The programme is being staffed by retired nurses and people who may have been furloughed from the NEC or cabin crew from airlines.”
