The UK’s coronavirus death toll has risen by 563, bringing the total number of fatalities overall in the UK to 82,624.

The Department of Health says there has now been a total of 3,072,349 lab-confirmed cases as of Sunday, January 10, after 54,940 more people tested positive for Covid-19.

More than 56 million tests have now been carried out.

In Wales, 169,754 people have now tested positive for the virus with 1,660 new cases reported today.

The death toll in North Wales is now 620, while suspected Covid-19 fatalities across Wales now stands at 3,964 following the confirmation on January 10 of 45 more deaths.

Anglesey:  17 new cases – total 1,327

Conwy: 40 new cases – total 2,558

Denbighshire: 57 new cases – total 3,109

Gwynedd: 36 new cases – total 1,964

Wrexham: 174 new cases – total 8,123
