Surrey coronavirus death toll rises by another 26 – Surrey Live

Twenty-six more coronavirus -related hospital deaths have been reported in Surrey as the number of cases increased by 858.

New figures from NHS England show that 15 of the deaths were recorded at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Three more were registered at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and eight at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The figures come as the UK recorded another 529 deaths within 28 days of a positive Covid test, and 46,169 new cases in the last 24 hours.

The total number of people that have been vaccinated according to daily data on the Gov.uk dashboard is 1,296,432 as of 3 January 2021, however Matt Hancock today confirmed this total is now past two million.

Elmbridge recorded the biggest increase with 131 new cases, but there was a rise of 37 in one area of the county – the lowest rise for days.

  • Reigate and Banstead: 6,196 (increase of 87)
  • Runnymede: 3,995 (increase of 56)
  • Spelthorne: 5,112 (increase of 85)
  • Surrey Heath: 3,962 (increase of 82)
  • Tandridge: 3,940 (increase of 40)
  • Waverley: 4,256 (increase of 65)
  • Woking : 4,642 (increase of 110)

  • Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust – 663 (increase of 15)
  • Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust – 485 (increase of eight)
  • Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust – 369 (no change)
  • Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust – 288 (no change)
  • Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust – 171 (increase of three)
  • Woking Community Hospital – one (no change)
  • Nuffield Health, Woking – one (no change)
  • Mount Alvernia, Guildford – two (no change)
  • Walton Community Hospital – four (no change)
  • St Magnus in Haslemere – two (no change)

A further 529 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 81,960.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 97,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.

The Government also said the total number of lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK is now 3,118,518.
