A Scots hospital ward has been forced to close its doors after a major Covid-19 outbreak was identified.

A total of 21 patients and staff linked to the Letham Ward at Cameron Hospital in Windygates, Fife, have caught the virus in recent days.

NHS Fife confirmed that new admissions have been suspended whilst strict cleaning protocols remain in place.

Additional measures have also been introduced to help stop the virus spreading while some staff have been asked to self-isolate.
