More than 4,000 people in Nottinghamshire who have been offered the Covid-19 vaccination have not had it yet, NHS data shows.

Data shows that 4,265 people who are eligible for the vaccine in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have not received it.

NHS statistics have been published for Covid-19 vaccinations carried out by the Integrated Care System/Sustainability Transformation Partnership from December 8 to February 14.

It comes as letters and text messages have now been sent to people in the over 65s category in Nottinghamshire inviting them to book an appointment.

Data compares the number of people who have had the jab to ONS population estimates for each area.

It shows that the majority of those who have not received their first dose of the vaccine are in the 80 plus group, with 3,816 people outstanding.

The number of people in the 75 to 79 category who have not had the jab stands at 342.

And just 107 people aged between 70 – 74 have not had the jab.

In total, 225,874 first doses of a Covid-19 vaccination have been given out in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – more than a quarter of the total population.

Just over 100,000 of these vaccinations have gone to people aged under 70 as booking is also underway for people who are aged 16 to 65 and are clinically vulnerable.

Amanda Sullivan, Accountable Officer for NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “We are really pleased that so many people across the county have already taken the opportunity to be vaccinated.

“Latest figures show we are making excellent progress with our vaccination programme – 227,184 vaccines have been administered with 48,164 in the last week alone. Each day we are delivering a significant number of vaccines to the most vulnerable in our communities and the work of our staff and volunteers to accomplish this has been outstanding.

“In each priority cohort there is still a small amount of people who have not yet come forward and we would like to encourage those who have not yet taken up the offer to book in. Health and care teams are working together to make sure people in all communities across the city and county are getting the vaccine but you can help too. Please urge friends, family and those close to you to book a vaccine if they are eligible. A helpful guide to support people to book and understand what is available is here.”
