As coronavirus case rates fall across the country, there a lot more reasons for Cheshire to feel positive for the rest of 2021.

The Prime Minister revealed the government’s roadmap plans for exiting the national lockdown on Tuesday (February 22).

In the announcement, Mr Johnson revealed that all aspects of society could be re-opened by June 21.

One of the biggest factors for the easing of lockdown restrictions has been the drop in infection rates and cases.

Cheshire is no exception and there are now several neighbourhoods in the county where the virus is considered to be suppressed.

This means that there are fewer than three cases in a given area.

Here are the areas of Cheshire with suppressed rates of coronavirus, according to a rolling seven day average of cases per 100k to February 20:

  1. Chester Handbridge Park
  2. Appleton
  3. Nantwich North East
  4. Christleton, Guilden Sutton & Waverton
  5. Holmes Chapel
  6. Nantwich South West
  7. Neston & Parkgate
  8. Whitby & Stanney Woods
  9. Kelsall, Tarvin & Ashton Hayes
  10. Comberbach, Acton Bridge & Whitley

After this, there are many areas of the county that are keeping coronavirus rates very low, and certainly below the current UK average of 115.3 cases per 100,000 people.

Stockton Heath and Hillcliffe comes in with the lowest case rate in the county where the virus is not completely suppressed at 32.9 cases per 100,000 people – more than ten times lower than the area with the highest rate.
