There have been three further Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours according to the Department of Health.

The Department’s daily dashboard says there have been 136 new positive cases in the past day with 1,598 being recorded in the last seven days.

Following the three most recent deaths, the death toll in Northern Ireland now stands at 2,055.

Belfast has had the largest increase in infections in the past 24 hours, with 38, followed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon with 18 and Mid Ulster with 15.

In the past week Belfast has had the largest number of new cases with 345, followed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon with 229 and Mid Ulster with 166.

Mid Ulster has the highest infection rate in Northern Ireland at 112.5 per 100,000 people.

There are 301 inpatients in hospital infected with Covid-19, with 278 being admitted in the past 14 days. During the same period 496 patients have been discharged.

In Northern Irish intensive care units there are 34 patients with the coronavirus and 30 are using ventilators.

To date, 112,493 individuals have tested positive for the virus.
